About Us
At TDF Painting and Decorating, we’re passionate about transforming homes and bringing visions to life. Founded by Tom, an apprentice-trained painter and decorator with over 18 years of experience, our business is built on skill, dedication and quality craftsmanship.
Tom holds an Advanced Apprenticeship in Painting and Decorating and shares his expertise as a part-time tutor at York College. With a decade of hands-on experience in restoring period properties, Tom has developed a deep understanding of traditional techniques and attention to detail.
Alongside a dedicated team of skilled professionals, Tom ensures every project – big or small – is completed to the highest standard. From period restoration to modern interiors, we’re proud to provide exceptional painting and decorating services across York and surrounding areas.

Tom has done two different blocks of painting and decorating work for me whilst I’ve been refurbishing a 1935 house – a large lounge, and then a large kitchen/dining room, hallway, stairwell and upper landing. The house now looks wonderful – he is a highly skilled professional and works very hard, always going the “extra mile” to ensure an excellent finish.
